United States (USA)

The United States is India’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade surpassing $190 billion in 2023. India exports pharmaceuticals, textiles, and IT services to the U.S., while the U.S. exports aircraft, medical devices, and electronics to India. Both countries are working to enhance trade through greater collaboration in sectors like technology and defense.

The U.S. is a major investor in India, particularly in IT, manufacturing, and retail, while Indian companies also invest heavily in the U.S. Collaborations in semiconductors, AI, and space technology are growing, alongside strong defense ties, particularly within the QUAD alliance.

India imports crude oil and LNG from the U.S., and both nations are increasingly working together on renewable energy and green initiatives. While challenges like trade barriers, H-1B visa policies, and regulatory differences persist, the relationship continues to strengthen, with mutual benefits from trade, investment, and technology.
